Bring the trophy home - Prof Fobih

Accra, Sept. 4, GNA - Prof. Dominic Fobih, Minister of Education, Science and Sports has encouraged Ghana's U-17 National team, the Black Starlets to put in extra effort to bring the trophy ahead of their semi-final game against Spain on Wednesday.

The Starlets can qualify for their first grand finale in 12 years if they defeat the Spaniards on Wednesday.

"I wish you very well and encourage you to concentrate on the game." Prof. Fobih saluted the team's resilient performance so far in the competition, especially against Brazil and tasked them to go all the way for the ultimate.

He described the team's progress so far as brilliant and a delight to watch, insisting, "Your ability to triumph over three South American teams is enough to make the Spanish side gawk with fright.

"I urge you to eschew complacency and stay focused with determination, high sense of commitment and team work to sail through to the final.

"Bare in mind that the entire nation is solidly behind you and we are expecting you to bring home the trophy."

The Starlets who are chasing a third global title at the South Korea World Cup, conquered Colombia, Brazil and Peru to advance to the semi final stage.
