Brighton win Manu race

English side Brighton & Hove Albion have beaten Watford to the signing of Elvis Manu from Feyenoord.

The former Holland under-21 attacker, who has opted to represent Ghana at the senior level, chose the Seagulls ahead of Premiership side Watford after both sides had their bids accepted by the Dutch club.

He has signed a three-year contract for a reported €2 million (£1.5m) fee after passing his medical.

"We are really pleased to have brought in another offensive option, and what Elvis will bring us is a different type of striker, and also a player who has also played in the wide areas,” Brighton manager Chris Hughton told the club’s website.

The 22-year-old big forward operated from the left wing for Feyenoord last season where he scored seven goals in 22 league appearances.
