Boateng: Real Madrid were difficult

Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has said Real Madrid were tough opponents in last night’s Uefa Champions League last-16 game against his side Schalke.

The Gelsenkirchen side conceded six goals at home and managed just a consolation in the dying embers of the one-sided bout.

Boateng has admitted Los Blancos were a strong side that eventually exposed their weaknesses before their teeming fans.

“Tonight was a difficult game for us because Real Madrid is one of the strongest teams in the world and they showed us all our limitations,” Boateng told Mediaset Premium.

Despite the loss, the Ghana international feels the Veltins Arena “fans were amazing.”

Boateng was substituted in the second half after suffering some discomfort.
