Boampong sent off as Hearts of Oak wallop Crystal Palace 5-0

10-man Hearts of Oak recorded a 5-0 victory over lower division side Akosombo Crystal Palace in a pre-season friendly at the Selhurst Akotex Park on Sunday.

Emmanuel Hayford opened the scoring for the Phobians in the 17th minute before two-goal hero Gilbert Fiamenyo found the back of the net in the 24th minute.

The Rainbow heaped more misery on the Akosombo based club when Isaac Oduro struck in the 27th minute while Fiamenyo increased the tally in the 40th minute.

Back from recess, lanky winger Kwame Kizito hit the final nail in the coffin with the fifth goal in the 55th minute.

Captain Philip Boampong was shown the red card in the 65th minute after committing two bookable offences.

Hearts of Oak, who are preparing for the 2015 Caf Confederations Cup, will open their Ghana Premier League campaign against the West Africa Football Academy at the Kpando Park on January 17th.
