Black Stars supporters advised not to politicise Union

Wa, Dec 18, GNA - Mr. Mohaideen Sungmanbo, Upper West Chapter Chairman of the National Black Stars Supporters Union on Sunday appealed to members of the Union not to inject partisan politics in their activities.

He said an attempt to politicise the Union would spell its doom and defeat the noble ideas being nurtured throughout the country to give the Black Stars the maximum support in both the African Cup of Nations and the World Cup in Egypt and Germany respectively.

Mr. Sungmando gave the advice during a meeting with members of the Union at Wa to strategize for the participation of the Black Stars in both the African Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup.

The meeting, which attracted supporters from all walks of life in and around the Wa Municipality among others, discussed the supporters' national dress code, the quota system for every region and the mobilisation of funds for members to travel for the two tournaments. The Chairman called on the members to be committed and steadfast in their effort to spur the Stars on in their encounters, adding "Every small commitment you put up here, and every small contribution you make here, will go a long way to help the Stars to achieve the desired goals".

The members appealed to the interim executive members to extend their educational programmes to other districts to come out with a very good and attractive representation.
