Black Stars bench welcomes squad competition

One of the best moments every coach wishes for is when he has his best players available for selection.

According to Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu, his boss - Kwasi Appiah finds himself in a position of strength going into the return leg of the World Cup qualifying play-off against Egypt next week.

“They are all doing their best. You know previously we never had all the players like this. We had them for the first time against Zambia and Egypt and now everybody is jelling together very well,” said Konadu.

“We are happy working with these guys. They are top class professional players and to be part of this group is a good thing,” he added.

Ghana has more options on hand and the availability of Kevin-Prince Boateng, who joins an already competitive set-up that thrashed Egypt 6-1 in the first leg in Kumasi last month further increases competition for places ahead of the November 19 game in Cairo.

The Ghana assistant coach has given his seal of approval for the level of competition in the squad.

The aggregate winner after Tuesday's match qualifies for next year's finals in Brazil.
