Black Stars beat Power FC

THE local component of the Black Stars were given a hell of time by Power FC before powering home to a 2-1 victory in their friendly match at Winneba yesterday.

The Stars led 1-0 at half time from an own goal after hardworking midfielder, Obeng Twumasi deflected an Amankwaa Mireku pass into his own net.

Notwithstanding the goal, Coach Daudu Lutterodt’s boys were relentless as they matched the Stars squarely in the second half.

However, substitute Awudu Adama increased the tally for the national team from the spot after Ishmael Addo was brought down in the box.

The goal brought the best yet out of Power as they fought hard to get a consolation goal when Lawrence Bonney beat Abukari Kankani with a first time shot
