Black Stars Line Up 3 Matches

After masterminding the massacre of the super Eagles of Nigeria with a 4-1 drubbing at Loftus Road Stadium in the United Kingdom, Black Stars Coach, Claude Le Roy will lead his charges again to another onslaught with three nations as their target.

Starting from Tuesday, August 21, the Stars will lace their boots against another continental football powerhouse, Senegal in the UK in a match that is expected to test the strength of the two sides.

On September 12, the team may storm the United States of America with a tough tie against Mexico to be followed by a clash with the United Arab Emirates.

FA Vice President, Fred Pappoe who disclosed this in an interview said arrangement has been finalized for the match against the Senegalese.

He however noted that though plans were far advanced to engage the two other nations, the FA’s of the three nations are yet to pen to paper.

"We are still negotiating with the FA’s of Mexico and UAE and the moment things are finalized, we would make it public," Mr. Pappoe told the Times Sports.

According to Mr. Pappoe, the three nations selected have what it takes to expose the weakness in the Stars to give Le Roy an idea as to which areas of the team needs attention.

The Stars last clash with Senegal was at the last Nations Cup in Egypt where they lost 0-1 to an injury-plagued Black Stars courtesy a brilliant strike from Matthew Amoah from an acute angle.

Mr. Pappoe, known in football circles as ‘Papsay’ said the match will satisfy the desire of the fans to see the Stars test their strength with top African Stars.

But while the Stars eye a second defeat over the Terranga Lions, they are planning a surprise package for their Mexican opponent, who pipped the Ghanaians 1-0 in their build up to the Germany 2006 World Cup.

The FA Vice President noted that the Stars would approach the matches with the urgency they deserve and would assemble the finest players available.

That, he however stated, does not mean the door of the Black Stars are shut on other players who have not yet received invitation.
