Black Sharks out of world cup race

Ghana would not be represented at this Year's FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup after the Black Sharks lost the plot to qualify, losing heavily yet again to defending champions Senegal in the on-going African Beach Soccer Championship yesterday.

The Sharks lost 11-3 to their Senegalese counterparts and have exited the competition which is a CAF qualifier for the World Cup after two consecutive defeats.

Ghana Started the game on a bad note as the their opponents spent less than 3 seconds to register their first through danger man N.Sylla who guided in his shot past goalkeeper Francis Agbekey.

The unsettled Ghanaian team continued to stutter in defense allowing N.Sylla another opportunity to put the ball in the back of the net after he was teed up by Koupapki.

Ghana's response to the goal was quite swift, with midfielder Nii Odartey Lamptey guiding his header into the net moments after the Senegalese Goalkeeper mishandled and miscommunication in the defense of the Senegalese few minutes after, led to an own goal which leveled matters.

The Class of the two time World Cup quarter finalists began to show as their careful passing coupled with their technique began to pose problems for the Sharks and resulted in four more goals at the end of the First Period.

It was more of the same in the second period with the Senegalese dominating in every department of the game, and were duly rewarded with three more goals to push the score to 9-2.The Black Sharks breathed their last with a excellent goal from Joseph Larweh but were soon replied by 2 more goals from the Senegalese who have sealed Automatic Qualification to the next Round of the competition with a game to spare. Hosts Morocco have sealed qualification as well after they beat Madagascar 6-3.

The qualification slots in Group B have being picked up by Nigeria and Ivory Coast after they managed 8-4 and 5-4 wins against Egypt and Libya respectively. The Black Sharks would attempt to pick their first three points of the tournament when they play the less Fancied but Determined Madagascar Side at the EL Jedida Beach Resort at 13;45hrs GMT. In other games today Morocco would take on Senegal in Game that would decide who tops the group A and Nigeria play Ivory Coast in a game of similar Importance in Group B. Libya and Egypt would sloth it out in North African derby at the same venue.
