Black Satellites to play friendly with Chinese

Accra, July 2, GNA - The Ghana National under 20 football team, Black Satellites is to travel to China for a friendly Soccer match with their Chinese counterparts in August this year. The trip is part of activities marking the Golden Jubilee celebrations of relations between the Ghana and the People's Republic of China. According to a press statement in Accra signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in conjunction with the Chinese Embassy, July 5th this year would be exactly fifty years of abiding commitment, mutual understanding and close cooperation between the two countries.

It said that the celebration would help recall with satisfaction the mutual understanding, friendship and close collaboration that had existed between the two countries over the years. The statement stated government's appreciation of the support and assistance received from the Chinese government and looked forward to exploring further opportunities to strengthen the bilateral relations between Ghana and China.

The celebration, which is on the theme: " Partnership, Cooperation and Development Experiencing 50 Years of Relations Between Ghana and China", would include activities such as donation of commemorative stamps by the Chinese Government to the Ghana Post and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.

There would also be exchange of congratulatory messages between the Heads of State and Foreign Affairs Ministers of the two countries in addition a Photo Exhibition and Reception on 16th July.
