Black Princess spank Ghatel Ladies 8-0

Cape Coast, May 18, GNA - The national Under-20 Ladies soccer team, the Black Princess on Thursday played a fantastic game by spanking Cape Coast Ghatel Ladies 8-0 in a friendly soccer match played at the Robert Mensah stadium at Cape Coast.

Ironically it was Ghatel Ladies midfielder, Mary Baidoo who played a yeoman's game by scoring four of the goals for the Princess during the proceedings.

After referee Michael Asare signalled the two sides into action, Ghatel Ladies showed their determination to face their much fancied opponents by matching them boot for boot, but the Princess drew the first blood when they scored the first goal in the 25th minute through Baidoo to end the first half 1-0 in their favour. In the second half, the striking force of Black Princess made up of Mary Baidoo, Diana Ankomah, Lydia Kwarteng and Mawusi Danyo combined beautifully with short and accurate passes and scored seven more goals to seal the doom of Ghatel Ladies.

Ben Fokuo, assistant coach for the Black Princess told the GNA Sports that the exercise was designed to tap potential players across the country to beef up the team. He therefore called for lady footballers to show keen interest in their training so as to get a call up to the national teams.
