Black Challenge sure to bounce back

The Black Challenge, Ghana’s Amputee national team can’t wait to get on the pitch again in the ongoing Cup of African Nations Cup for Amputee Football (CANAF 2011) after losing their opening game last Saturday. 1-2 they succumbed to Sierra Leone in group A of what has now been whittled down to a 6-team tournament of two groups each.

The Ghanaians next take to the pitch on Wednesday by which time they should know what they must do against Niger to make Friday’s semi finals. The Nigeriens face Sierra Leone in the second group A game today at ATTC Park in the Accra suburb of Kokomlemle.

In group B, Angola inflicted a 1-0 win over defending champions Liberia and face Nigeria today to determine their semi final fate. Nigeria will then face Liberia on Wednesday to complete the round robin group.

Winner of group A meet runner-up of group B whilst winner of group B face the runner-up of Group A in the semi finals at the Accra Stadium on Friday before the matches for 3rd place as well as the final are honoured at the same venue on Saturday.
