Besiktas set sights on Ghana striker Gyan

Besiktas are hoping to snap up Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan to replace Hugo Almeida, whose contract runs out this season, Goal Ghana understands.

The Turkish giants will be playing in the qualifiers for the Uefa Champions League and see the Al Ain goal poacher as the right man to help them into the group stages.

Gyan, who has won the goal king award in UAE for the past three seasons, has said he has paid his dues already in Europe and does not see the reason why he should leave the Gulf Region, but the prospect of playing in the elite division of Europe’s inter-club competition could entice him.

The former Udinese, Rennes and Sunderland striker is currently valued in the region of 20 million Euros.

Other Turkish clubs such as Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have also expressed interest in him.
