Benin pulls out of Togo game

Accra, March 27, GNA - Republic of Benin has pulled out of the newly created African Nations Championship (CHAN) Sport qualifier against Togo.

Benin cited lack of players for the game that was slated for the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra on Sunday, according to information pieced together by the GNA Sports.

Togo had adopted Ghana's capital, Accra as her home venue for Sunday's duel following their three-match home ban. The Hawks grouped in Zone West B 7 would have traveled to Cotonou for the reverse fixture in a fortnight's time. The championship is created by CAF to serve as platform for indigenous players plying their trades in the local leagues across the African continent.

The competition is scheduled for February 22-March 8 in 2009 in Cote d'Ivoire.
