Ben Koufie to visit Otto Addo

The chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ben Koufie would this month visit Ghanaian international, Otto Addo of German club, Borrusia Dortmund who aggravated his knee injury during Ghana?s 0-1 loss to the Cranes of Uganda in the 2004 African Nations Cup qualifier.

The Borussia Dortmund attacker was making a comeback from the same knee injury, which ruled him out of Ghana?s 2002 African Nations Cup campaign in Mali, would be out of action for six months.

According to an FA source, Ben Koufie would move from Egypt where he would be attending a soccer conference before emplaning to Germany to spend some time with Otto Addo. Also the FA chairman would be making financial payments as a form of compensation to Otto Addo for bonuses lost during the off period with Dortmund.

Meanwhile the Ghanaian FA did not bare the cost of the 27-year-old star?s operation as Dortmund settled the bills even though he was in the Black Stars jersey when he picked up the injury. The source hinted that, the move is to show appreciation to all players who serve the nation in critical times like Otto?s.
