Basit makes starting return for Chelsea against Mazembe

Captain Abdul Basit leads a strong line up for Berekum Chelsea in their Caf Champions League game against TP Mazembe.

The agile midfielder returns after missing the opening group win over Zamalek for the game to be played at Mazembe’s new stadium on Sunday afternoon in Lubumbashi.

Basit is being supported in midfield by Jordan Opoku, Gladson Awako, Jackson Owusu and Solomon Asante.

He will be playing his usual role as a supporting cast behind leading striker Emmanuel Clottey who has already scored nine goals so far in the competition.

The central defensive pair of Ahmed Adams and Edward Kpodo is being maintained with Richard Kissi-Boateng and Eric Agyemang playing the respective full back positions with Ernest Sowah in post.

Chelsea will be looking to spoil the party when they line up against The Ravens at an expected packed crowd in the 13:30 GMT kick off game.
