Banahene will deliver if selected â?? Yaw Frimpong

TP Mazembe full back Yaw Frimpong says he believes that new call up Emmanuel Osei Banahene will live up to expectations if selected against Uganda on Saturday in Kampala.

Frimpong told footy-ghana.com that the Al Orubah striker has looked good in training, adding that Banahene will receive all the help he needs from his teammates if he starts.

“He has looked good in training and we are all ready to help him, especially if the coach selects him. I believe he will do very well if selected against Uganda.”

Frimpong however noted that injured duo Asampoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah have been missed by the Black Stars players, especially with their capacity to inspire the players and set a humourous tone in camp at times.

“When they are around, they always encourage the rest of us and they make us feel comfortable with cracking of jokes most of the time. So we miss them.”

The full back also told footy-ghana.com that Andre Ayew doesn’t seem fazed by his new responsibility as acting captain, adding that it has been business as usual for the Marseille midfielder.

“He has been doing what he always does; working very hard in training. He is a natural leader and so nothing much has changed with his new role as stand-in captain.”

The Black Stars have arrived in Kampala ahead of a 2015 African Nations Cup qualifier against The Cranes of Uganda on Saturday.
