Bamson Donates ?10m for Ohene Djan Lectures

Bamson Company Limited, manufacturers of Akzo Sikkens car refinishing and Sandtex Masonry decorative paints has donated ?10m towards this year's Ohene Djan Memorial Lectures.

The lectures, instituted by RICS Consult Limited which is being resumed after a 10 year break is to be delivered by Dr. K.O. Quansah, a medical practitioner and a keen sports analyst and administrator.

The one-day lectures comes on at the Novotel on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 10.00 am under the theme, "The Man Ohene Djan - His Relevance to contemporary Sports Promotion and Development."

Presenting the cheque to Mr. Rex Danquah, Chief Executive of RICS Consult Limited, Mr. Kwame Ofosu Bamfo, Managing Director of Bamson Company said he was delighted to be associated with the resumption of the lectures which often evokes critical issues bordering on promotion and development of the country's sports.

He is optimistic that the outcome of the lectures would help address the many critical issues affecting the country's sports. Mr. Danquah on his part thanked Mr. Ofosu Bamfo for his quick response to the appeal and indeed the fact that Bamson has been associated with the lectures since its inception. He called on others to emulate Bamson's gestures so as to sustain the programme.

Hon. Kwadwo Baah Wiredu, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports will be the special guest of honour. The Chairman for the function will be Dr. Kofi Amoah, Chairman of the CAN 2008 Ghana Bid Committee and President of Progeny Ventures International (PVI) Ghana
