Greek club PAOK is reportedly fighting to retain Ghanaian international Baba Rahman, as per the East Anglian daily.

The left-back, a former Chelsea player, has garnered attention from Ipswich Town and Brentford.

Rahman has participated in 42 matches for PAOK across various tournaments, establishing himself as one of the top-scoring defenders in the Greek League.

Brentford had earlier dispatched scouts to observe the 29-year-old during their Europa Conference League match against Dinamo Zagreb, aiming to bolster their squad following a demanding season exacerbated by Rico Henry's knee injury.

Despite PAOK's exit from the Conference League at the quarter-final stage, Rahman's performance remains unparalleled among left-backs, with 671 minutes of play, one goal, and an assist to his name. Additionally, he has generated five goal-scoring opportunities for PAOK in the Conference League.

Rahman's current contract, a three-year agreement, reportedly earns him approximately €1 million annually. However, a potential move back to the Premier League could see his salary double, where he previously played 14 matches for Chelsea before his progress was hindered by an injury.

Focused on his club career this year, Rahman has regained his top form, complemented by notable performances domestically and in European competitions.

PAOK, currently second in the league standings with a slim chance at the title, is hopeful that a league victory might persuade one of their star players to extend his stay beyond the summer season.
