Baba Mensah up for Black Meteors call-up

Inter Allies central defender Baba Mensah will be given a Black Meteors call-up ahead of next year’s Olympic games and All African Games qualifiers.

The former Ghana Under-17 and U20 defender put up a fine performance for his side in their 3-2 defeat to Kotoko which caught the eyes of coach Malik Jabir and Karim Zito.

Goal Ghana understands that both coaches are ready to give Mensah a chance in the team as they believe he will help a lot in the central defense department.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old former Black Satellites defender is eyeing to win the upcoming special league with Inter Allies. Baba who was instrumental last season as his side finished in mid-table and also reached the MTN FA Cup finals is looking forward to the start of the local league.

“We played a lot of matches during our pre-season training but unfortunately the league did not come on but we still hope it starts very soon because I am expecting Inter Allies to win the league,” Mensah told Goal. “We know it is not going to be easy but we believe in ourselves and we will achieve it for sure.”

Mensah who has played in Israel before also stated that he will work hard next season in order to get a deal in Europe.
