Baba Mensah credits top form to hard work

Inter Allies and Ghana U23 defender Baba Mensah has revealed the secret of his growing success to be hard work, prayers and determination.

The 21-year-old is currently one of the most sought-after centre backs in the Ghana Premier League. He is expecting a call up to the local Black Stars after breaking into the Black Meteors set up.

“My improvement is due to hard work at training, determination and of course prayers which have contributed to my continued progress. I’m very happy with my output as I’m getting better every day,” Mensah told Goal.

He was a member of Ghana’s squad that participated in the 2013 African Youth Championship in Algeria and the World Cup in Turkey but failed to make any outstanding impact.

However, he has been displaying a sparkling form since then with his side, which reached the final of the FA Cup last season.

“This season is moving on smoothly for me and I’m happy personally as a central defender because we have conceded only for goals and no yellow cards. There is possibility that we can win the league. I hereby call on our fans to continue supporting us with their prayers. We’ll not disappoint them,” he said.

“I am also hoping to do my best for the U23 team in the qualifiers for the All African Games so that we can go there and raise high the flag of Ghana by winning the ultimate”

Mensah signed for Inter Allies last season after an unsuccessful stint in Israel.
