B/A United win Nana Drobo's cup

The Apostles of Power Soccer crowned a successful season by wining the 2002 edition of the Nana Drobo Cup at Nwoase in the Wenchi District of the Brong Ahafo Region over the weekend. The four-club tournament, which is played every year in memory of the late, Nana Kofi Drobo and also to mark the APOW festival, featured four premier Clubs, namely: Real Tamale United, Tano Bofoakwa, Kumasi Asante Kotoko who featured a second-string team, due to Continental assignment, and the eventual winners, B/A United.

Before reaching the finals, the Gala Lords had accounted for RTU by beating them 1-0, through a goal from Justice Opoku (Akroma). Kotoko, who were playing as the defending champions had also beaten Tano Bofoakwa earlier on, but were however beaten on penalties in the grand finals by B/A United, who picked their second trophy for the season.

After the tournament, the organisers praised all the participating teams for exhibiting a high standard of football to the local people and urged them to prepare for a more lucrative tournament next season.
