B.A. United and Bofoakwa draw in First Division League match

Sunyani, (B/A) April 4, GNA - City arch rivals, B.A. United and Tano Bofoakwa settled for a goalless drawn game in their tension-packed 93Zone 1B" national First Division football league match at the Coronation Park in Sunyani on Sunday.

The taunts and insults by the supporters of both sides coupled with th= e play-it-hard strategy adopted by the players resulted in some of the player= s being carried to the touchline for first-aid treatment due to injury. Goalkeepers Kwame Ntow of B.A. United and Anthony Ansah of Bofoakwa were indisputably the best players as they made perfect and spectacular saves to the delight of the fans as they prevented a number of goal-bound shots from entering their nets.

The two Sunyani clubs who once belonged to the elite in Ghana's Prem= ier League have been on relegation for sometime now and are currently doing their best to re-capture that status through the preliminaries of the northern zone First Division League. Later in an interview with the GNA Sports after Referee Franklin Cobbina had whistled for the end of the game, some of United supporters blamed the inability of their team from carrying the day by substitutions made. The head coach of United, George Kwame Opuni, however, explained that the decision to make the changes became necessary saying, 93Nortey was giv= en a specific role to play in the match but surprisingly he decided just to play to the gallery instead of on purpose. On the claim by some of the supporters that Ebow Andoh was a waste pip= e after replacing Nortey, Coach Opuni said those claimants 93are also human beings who are entitled to their opinions".

The 93Zone 1B' is currently topped by Bechem United with 23 points= , followed by B.A. United with 15 points.
