B.A Stars oblivious of referee's punishment

Accra, Jan. 7, GNA - Bottom Club, B.A Stars are oblivious of sanctio= ns handed over to three referees and their assistants who were found culpable in three of their games during the first round of the Premiership, despite claims by the Premier League Board (PLB) that the referees have been put on ice.

The second half of the season returns this weekend with Patrick Kyeremanteng, Charles Dowuona and R. E. Binney going unpunished for their roles in these games involving the Sunyani-based club. The three officiated the Club's games against Hearts of Oak, New Edubiase both in Sunyani and Kessben in Essipong near Sekondi where they disallowed fives goals in Weeks five, seven and eight, but reviews by the PLB proved most of the goals should have stood.

Welbeck Abra-Appiah, Chairman of the PLB told GNA Sports that the referees were punished after the review but remained evasive on the nature of punishment.

Charles Kwasi Asare, a Director of the Club, however, told GNA Sports that the PLB boss' revelation is news to his outfit. "We have been waiting forever to know the nature of punishment the P= LB and the Referees Appointment Committee (RAC) would give to the men and to hear this latest twist is news to us. "We knew after the review that even though we could not change the results despite agreeing four of the five disallowed goals should have stood, but for us at least knowing the punishment for these referees could have soothed our pain somehow. "The difficulty in getting justice has really discouraged a 91baby club' like us. It has dampened the morale of the players and that has affected ou= r campaign a lot." He added. Without communication and justice, B.A Stars will remain entrenched if any of the referees are appointed for their 15 remaining games for the second half of the Premiership. "We will protest if any of the three is appointed for our games beca= use we cannot anticipate how they will be fair to us." B.A Stars will be on the road to their new 93home" in Essipong, Sek= ondi as host of Obuasi Ashgold in the opener of the second round on Sunday. They were banned from home and have so far accrued a sorry eight point= s from a possible 45, after losing six points through disciplinary actions.
