Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association Chairman on his knees.

Has 30days Ultimatum To Convene Congress to elect Exco Members. The chairman of Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association Chairman Mr. Augustine Asante is in hot waters for running the Association without executive committee members for close to six years which is a serious offence and against the statues of the Ghana Football Association.

Mr. Asante for reasons best known to him is reported to have hand picked his close associate whom he has been running the association with. To add to this , the chairman has failed to render accounts to the members of the association since he took over as chairman of the Association in 2005. In chart with some houses in Sunyani , sheepish looking Mr. Asante ,admitted having executive committee without holding congress and when asked to name the members he declined.

The can of worms at the Regional Football Association was revealed after a sports caster and sports administrator Mr. Uriel Cubagee handed a strong worded letter dated 17thDecember, 2012 to the Chairman and copied to Ghana Football Association and media houses.

The letter reads : G.F.A STATUES –ARTICLES 49.5 AND 52:

Dear Sir, I am a football Administrator and sports caster resident in Sunyani and I have been monitoring the activities of the Regional Football Association in the Brong Ahafo Region. I wish to draw your attention to the fact that , you have woefully failed to observe and adhere to the rules and regulations as stipulated in the GFA statutes, particularly Article 49.5 and the whole of Article 52 thereof. I therefore urge and admonish you to adhere to these articles and act accordingly to ensure the smooth administration and running of football in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Please take notice and notice is hereby served on you, that if you fail to act according to the above mentioned articles then I shall within a period of 3030days from the date of service of this notice on you take legal action against you in a court of competent jurisdiction to seek such reliefs and remedies that I shall deem fit in the circumstance without any further notice to you. It is an open secret that serious malfeasance has weighed down the Regional football association with the latest being a ban imposed on the Regional Referees Association Chairman Mr. S.Y Barimah by G.F.A for taking Ghc1,000 from the Chairman of Debiso FC to help the team’s progress during the middle league. In a latest twist Mr. Asante is alleged to have called several club chairmen in the region on phone pleading with them not get involved in the media castigation against his unpopular administration style assuring them he will convene congress in due course.
