Aston Villa owner and chairman Dr. Tony Xia has assured supporters that Ghana striker Jordan Ayew is ready to stay at the club and play his part in their Championship campaign next season, following their relegation from the Premier League.

The 24-year-old has been heavily linked away from the club following interest from French side Bordeaux, Sunderland and Bournemouth but Xia insists that Ayew as well as Jordan Amavi will stay at the club with another striker expected to join the outfit.

"[Jordan] Ayew and [Jordan] Amavi will definitely stay! We'll get [a] striker but be confident with the manager. Team knowing what to do," Xia tweeted.

"We aren't just for a return but more, so signing strikers is not just for Championship but premier level. Good strategy to right timing," he added.

Ayew became the top scorer for Villa last season in the Premier League after scoring seven goals, which represented 26 per cent of Villa's total 27 goals.
