Ayew rescues point for Swansea against Everton

Ghana International Jordan Ayew saved the day for Swansea after Everton looked to have blocked their ascent towards Premier League safety.

Kyle Naughton’s first-half own goal looked to have cruelly denied them at least a point after a dominant display against Sam Allardyce’s side.

But Ayew saved the day in his first game back after a three match ban to ensure Swansea remain unbeaten when he has hit the back of the net. The draw forces the Welsh side down into 17th in the table, four points clear of the bottom three.

Swansea had the opportunity to put real daylight between themselves and the releagtion zone thanks to Olivier Giroud’s heroics against Southampton in the early kickoff.

Jordan Ayew looked eager to make up for lost time on his return during Swansea’s ferocious first ten minutes as he sent a warning to Phil Jagielka and Michael Keane with a number of incisive forward runs.

And despite conceding against the run of play, however, the Swans kept their foot on the throttle and peppered the Everton goal until their pressure bore fruit as Ayew struck his 11th goal of the season
