OLY WON AGAINST ADUANA IN DORMAA IF NOT REFEREE ERNEST BAAFI-ATTRAM
The Captain of Accra Great Olympics, Godwin Attram has revealed to Rainbow Sports that they won First Capital Plus Premier League day 27 fixture against Aduana Stars at Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa, if it had not been centre referee Ernest Baafi.
Attram expressed his disappointment in the trend of home team winning at all cost syndrome which is gradually taken center stage in Ghana football.
Speaking to Frontline Sports on Rainbow Radio International 87.5 fm in Accra, the former U-17, U-20 captain and Black Stars player said the notions that the team in the league that can beat Aduana Stars on their home ground this season have been broken by Accra Great Olympics’s determination to survive premiership on August 9th 2015 in Dormaa.
He added that the referees’ performance should help improve Ghanaian football not to destroy or take the beauty of the game at a time when managers of the business are looking for ways of getting fans to the stands.
We were frustrated right after we had the opener by both sides of assistant referees especially centre man, Mr Ernest Baafi, just because Aduana was at home and must win, said Attram.
Football match should be won on pure merit but not on grounds of favouritism or who host he said.
The experience captain also assured al supporters and well wishes of their favourite traditional club Great Olympics to still rally behind the wonder side for premiership survival battle as players, management and technical team have teamed up to escape relegation which many have labeled them since the commencement of second of the difficult season 2014/2015.
