Despite their poor start in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League, Medeama SC Midfielder Enoch Atta Adjei insists his side will still annex the coveted league trophy at the end of the season.

The Mauves were handed their first defeat in the opening day match by AshantiGold at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

Bernard Ofori scored from the spot for the visitors but goals from Tijani Joshua and Fuseinin Nuhu snatched the three points for the Miners.

But Atta Adjei believes the side played well but were unlucky to have taken all the three points.

“Everyone was happy because we played very well and I think we will correct our mistakes for the next game,” he said.

“We shall, however, pick our first three points against Hearts on Sunday at Tarkwa to make our fans happy.”

“I believe in myself and my team mates, we are the best in this GPL. With my help and my team mates help we are taking the league this season,” Atta Adjei told the media after the game in Obuasi.

Medeama SC have been tipped by the bookmakers as one of the favourites for the league title.
