Atsu set to miss Anfield trip

Ghana winger Christian Atsu is unlikely to make his first competitive appearance for Bournemouth when they travel to face Liverpool on Monday night.

The on loan Chelsea player has recovered from an injury he sustained in pre-season but is not considered fit enough to make an appearance at Anfield as the Cherries chase a first Premier League point.

Atsu's last appearance was in a 3-2 win against Exeter City in a warm up game, but along with Ireland international Arter will not get the chance to show what he is made of.

The attacker has endured two loan stints of contrasting fortune since his big money move from Porto to Chelsea and is desperate to prove himself in the Premier League after a poor period at Everton.
