Atsu barred from training

Christian Atsu has been barred from training by Porto and was not included in their pre-season tour of Holland, sparking more rumours that he will be leaving the club by the end of the transfer window.

Atsu has refused to sign a new contract at Porto in light of interest from a handful of Premier League clubs including Everton, Spurs, and Liverpool, and this latest move to stop him training with the first team is thought to be an indication that he is about to leave Portugal.

Atsu has another year left to run on his existing contract with Porto – meaning the Portuguese champions risk losing him for free next year if they fail to sell him this summer.

The 21 year old international left winger is being courted by a number of clubs, although new boss Roberto Martinez is reportedly still on the look out for a midfielder and may want to land his man quickly.
