Ashgold fans warn Yaw Acheampong

Disillusioned supporters of Ashantigold are strongly demanding the dismissal of Yaw Acheampong as coach of the Obuasi club. Fans of the 3-time Ghana champions have passed a vote of no confidence in Coach Acheampong even as the former Ghana international ended a 3-match losing streak by beating giants, Hearts of Oak in Accra on the last league Match Day.

The fans have demanded the immediate sack of Acheampong and replace him with another former player of the club, Kamara Dini. Acheampong has come under fire since losing Ashgold’s unbeaten run at home to Aduana Stars which was followed by two straight defeats to Berekum Arsenals and Medeama, at home again. But Acheampong seemed to have revived Ashgold hopes of ending three consecutive seasons runner-up finishes with a first league title in over 15 years.

But not for fans of the club who have petitioned CEO Kudjoe Fianoo and his lieutenants to take action that will pave the way for 1995 U-17 World Cup winner, Kamara Dini to take the helm for the Aboakese lads.
