Ashanti Women's Soccer Association gets Patrons

Kumasi, July 26, GNA - Eleven football personalities from the Kumasi Metropolis have agreed to serve as patrons for the Ashanti Women's Soccer Association to promote and develop women's soccer in the Region.

A Press Release issued and signed by Mr C.K. Yeboah, Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Football Association copied to the GNA Sports (RFA), named the personalities as Nana Yaw Owusu, Mr Okyere Darko, Mr Daniel Owusu Appiah and Mr Francis Dadzie.

The others are Mr Kwasi Nyantakyi, Dr Ansah, Mr Malik Jabir, Mr Effah Amponsah, Madam Abena Tina, Madam Abeka Kuffour and Mr Akoto. The release said the personalities accepted to become patrons for the regional women's football association at a recent meeting during which they expressed satisfaction with the performance of the association.

Mr Yeboah appealed to the patrons to as a matter of urgency to bail the association out of its financial difficulties, while waiting for financial support from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to facilitate the promotion and development of women's football in the Region.
