Asamaoh doubtful for Sudan clash

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah says midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah is a doubt for the Black Stars’ game against Sudan on Friday.

The Juventus midfielder is racing against time to be fit after sustaining a muscle injury.

Appiah said: "The slight worry is about Kwadwo Asamoah. He is just recovering from a muscle injury problem so I asked him to slow down a bit in training.”

"It could be that, psychologically, he thinks the injury could erupt again."

"He is doing well but he is not 100 per cent fit. If we are unable to use him for the Sudan game I am sure by the time we get to Lesotho he could come in nicely," he added.

The Black Stars will face the Falcons of Jediane in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in Omdurman on Friday at 5pm.
