Appiah joins Black Stars camp

Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has arrived in London to support the Black Stars in tonight's friendly game against Mexico.

The Turkey-based midfielder arrived at the Ghana team hotel from Italy where is undergoing treatment.

The Fernabahce ace says he wants to join his colleagues to encourage them despite finsihing third at the recent Africa Cup of Nations.

"The Nations Cup did not go as we expected but we need to continue from there to bring honour to the country," Appiah told Ghanasoccernet.com

"We have the World Cup qualifiers on the horizon and I am just joning the team to let my colleagues know they have my support."

Meanwhile, Turkey-based Ahmed Barusso has been drafted in by coach Claude Leroy to replace injured Hans Sarpei.

Striker Sadat Bukari has also joined the squad.

The Black Stars will play Libya, Lesotho and Gabon in the qualifiers.
