Appiah Made AMERF Ambassador

A goal for Africa’s children. This is the new mission for the captain of the Black Stars, Stephen 'Tornado' Appiah.

Football and the world are together once again to help children. This time is Stephen Appiah’s turn to give his contribution. The Juventus player has been made an ambassador for African Medicine and Research Foundation (AMREF)

Appiah met Giulio Cederna and John Muiruri (the first is the AMREF responsible for the research and communication, the second is the AMREF project manager) in Turin yesterday and accepted with enthusiasm the proposal to help Nairobi’s children.

Appiah told journalists at the event that eventhough this event is meant for children in Nairobi, he is in discussion with (AMREF)for monies to be raised spent on children throughout the continent.

He added that that “I’ve been helping the children of my country for a long time, paying for their education, food, clothes and other things but now I know I can do something more for the whole Africa.

Appiah said today my children are lucky but you can never know what’s going to happen in future. Maybe one day someone else will help my children if they are in need. I’m proud AMREF picked me up as ambassador”.
