Appeals Committee throws out Bofoakwa's case

Accra, July 4, GNA - The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) at its sitting on Tuesday dismissed a case filed by Tano Bofoakwa against King Faisal for lack of substance. The two clubs have been embroiled in and out of the field since the opening day of the just ended season over the eligibility of Faisal's midfielder Awudu Nafiu.

Information gathered by the GNA Sports has it that the Committee also awarded a cost of 200 Ghana cedis (two million cedis) to King Faisal, which was to be paid by the Sunyani-based Club within a stipulated period.

The Committee which was chaired by Lawyer Emmanuel Annang, includes Mallam Seidu, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Asare, Mr. Mathew S. Doe, Chairman of the Central Regional Football Association (RFA) and Mr Lee Yankey of the Western Regional RFA.

The ruling by the Appeals Committee therefore means that Bofoakwa, who placed 14th in the just ended Onetouch Premier League, will have to contend with their demotion to the Division One football next season after exhausting all the legislative options. 04 July 07
