Apam Liberty F/C banned for four matches

Cape Coast, Jan. 24, GNA - The Central Regional Football Association has slapped a four match ban and a fine on Apam Liberty F/C for crowd misconduct.

Besides the ban, the Club is also to pay a fine of 500,000 cedis for causing an abrupt end of the match against Gomoa Ojobi Kaakyire Stars at Apam last Sunday.

A press release issued by the Association and signed by its Secretary, Mr Eric Ewudizie Sagoe on Tuesday also ordered the Club to pay a total sum of two million eight hundred and twenty thousand cedis (2,820,000) being the cost of items and cash stolen from the match Supervisor, Mr. P.M. Aryee.

The supporters were said to have manhandled referee Moses Agbegne and the Match Commissioner and took away 750,000.00 cedis, a football, an inflator, a wrist watch and two mobile phones all valued at 2,820,000 cedis belonging to the Commissioner. Meanwhile the RFA has said it is considering taking steps to bringing the ring leaders to book. Apam Liberty have therefore been asked to play their home matches at the Agona Swedru stadium with effect from January 20, 2007, the release added.
