Annan explains late Osasuna return

Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan has blamed visa issues for his late return to Osasuna after the 2013 AFCON.

It took a month for the Schalke 04 loanee to join his Los Rojillos team-mates after the 2013 AFCON where he helped Ghana to finish fourth.

"I went crazy because of issues with my paper. I had to legalize all documents and give everything in the Spanish office in Ghana. Finally I was granted the visa," he said at a press conference after training in Tajonar facilities, with the help of an English translator.

"It was not my fault for all this delay. It is the first time that I had to stay so long in my country because of bureaucratic problems.

Annan has played for Osasuna since rejoining them but he sat on their bench during their game this weekend.

As a result of his inactivity at club level, he has been left out of the Ghana squad for the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan this weekend.
