Andre Ayew swats aside Arsenal rumours

Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew has distanced himself from reports linking him with a move to English giants Arsenal.

Boss Arsene Wenger is said to be interested in the 21-year-old as he plans for life without Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

He was diplomatic over a purported move to the Emirates Stadium after Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Olympique Marseille at Auxerre in the French Ligue 1.

“Arsenal are a great club, but I am not thinking about that at all. I am focused on the game and Marseille, what happens, happens,” Ayew explained.

Marseille coach Didier Deschamps refused to be drawn into the speculation of his influential midfielder.

He told reporters: “He is under a contract until proven otherwise.”
