SWANSEA CITY star Bafetimbi Gomis says the presence of Ghana striker Andre Ayew will boost the chances of the English Premier League side’s qualification to European competition next season.

The former Saint-Etienne frontman is hoping linking up with the exciting Ayew – the Ghana World Cup ace having made a shock Swans move from Marseilles – could help Garry Monk’s men to European qualification next season.

Gomis claims a potential partnership with Andre Ayew could fuel his dream – and also boost chances of winning a Europa League place.

Speaking to journalists in France, Gomis said: “At Swansea we play good football. It took me a little time to adapt, but my late season was convincing.

“The Premier League is the best league in the world. It’s another culture, another way of understanding football.

“This season, we beat Arsenal twice and Manchester United twice; that is not average.

“But you have to be steady and keep the pace as it is a demanding championship.

“Finishing in the top-half of the table is our goal, but after that, we can look at the Europa League and the recent arrival of André Ayew is good for this purpose.”
