Andre Ayew is West Ham's most effective player to unmask 'lazy' claims

Ghana star Andre Ayew has emerged as the most effective player for West Ham since he joined the Hammers in August last year, to throw claims of being 'lazy and overrated' into the dustbin.

Statistics have shown the Ghanaian forward has been involved in more goals than any West Ham player for the past 12 months and counting.

Despite his struggles since joining from Swansea City due to injury, the 27-year-old has actually been one of West Ham's most effective players.

The former Marseille forward bagged a brace as West Ham completed a remarkable turnaround to beat Tottenham 3-2 and dumped them out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

Ayew joined the Hammers for a record £20.1m but a four-month injury lay-off means the Ghanaian will lose the spark required to light the English Premier League.

However, he was handed a chance by manager Slaven Bilic and proved him right by scoring a brace to increase his goal haul for the side this term.

The Ghanaian super star has scored 10 times since last August and provided five assists since he joined the East London side.

The statistics have thrown widespread criticism targeted at the Ghanaian by West Ham fans as he remains their most effective player in the past 12 months.
