Amputees team to get busy

Accra, March 4, GNA - The National Amputee team, the Black Challenge will on Thursday take on their Nigerian counterparts in an international friendly match at Fanteakwaa in the Eastern Region. The match forms of preparations towards the impending Amputee Africa Cup of Nations, to be held in Liberia later in the year. Coach Sam Armstrong Aidoo told the GNA Sports that the team is making an impact in the competition, hence the decision to give the players the needed international exposure.

He said the match will also be used to test the tactical and technical preparations of the team, ahead of the competition. "As defending champions, we have an image and reputation to protect and that is why we have intensified preparations for the competition." Coach Aidoo called on the entire nation as well as the corporate bodies to support and rally behind the team to ensure its growth and success.
