Amputee Football League to roll out soon

Accra, Aug. 10, GNA – The Ghana Amputee Football Federation (GAFF) will soon roll out a National football league in line with creating awareness and support for the sport.

The novelty league to be zoned into two based on the geographical location of the Clubs, to be made up of the Southern and Northern sectors will also help identify talents for the national team for future competitions.

Francis Adjetey Sowah, President of GAFF told GNA Sports in Accra on Wednesday that plans are advanced for the successful take-off of the League.

He said the existence of the League will help get quality players for the national teams since it will keep the players to be conditioned and in tough shape for international competitions.

The League, he said will also enhance competition in the selection of players for the national team, the Black Challenge, against the current trend where players are randomly handpicked.

Adjetey Sowah added that discussions are ongoing on the format and for the exact timeline for the commencement of the novelty League.

He appealed to individuals and corporate institutions to throw their weight behind the novelty when it takes off to give encouragement to the members.
