All set for National Colts Club Championship

Accra, Aug 7, GNA - All is set for this year's National Colts Club Championship scheduled for Tamale between August 11 and 19. The championship under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports and the Ghana Football Association (GFA), will see the Under-12 and 14 champions from the ten regions of Ghana seeking for honours in the week-long event.

Among the teams participating in the event are Allakosa FC and Goldfields from the Brong Ahafo Region with Fire Professionals and Diamond Stars from the Volta Region.

Inter-Best FC and Crystal FC will represent the Eastern Region whilst Shantel FC and Ogua United will make a case for the Central Region. Zamalek FC and Bibiani Crystal Acedemy will represent the Western Region with Anokye (Under 12 and 14), Aston Villa and Asokwa Royals seeking honours for the Ashanti Region.

The Greater Accra Region will be represented by Photizo Academy, Redd Lobters, Madina United and Teshie Zinaps while Catholic Stars steps in for Upper East with the host, Northern Region putting their bet on Tamale Real Republicans with the Upper West yet to name their champions. According to Mr Henry Aryee, Member of the National Juvenile Association (NJA) in charge of communications, the participants are expected to report at the games village, at the premises of Ghana Secondary School (GHANASCO) on Wednesday, August 9 for registration the next day.

The statement said the Kaladan Park, Tamale Secondary School (TAMASACO) Park, GHANASCO and the Bagabaga sports fields have been selected to host the event.

Mr Aryee in a statement copied to the GNA Sports said the opening ceremony of the programme will be performed by the sector Minister, Papa Owusu Ankomah with Mr Kwesi Nyantakyie, GFA Chairman and Mr Joseph Yaw Appiah, Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) and the Northern Regional Minister all in attendance. 07 Aug. 06
