All Blacks pip Vipers in a friendly

Cape Coast, Aug. 14, GNA - Newly promoted Premier Division football club, Swedru All Blacks pipped Cape Coast Venomous Vipers 2-0 in a friendly football match played at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium at the week-end.

All Blacks right from the blast of the whistle dominated and scored an opener in the 15th minute through a free kick expertly taken by midfielder Ishmael Yartey.

Vipers parading some of their newly signed on players, hit back gallantly and came close twice to scoring but their inside right Nathaniel Annan squandered the chances.

Vipers resumed the second half strongly and made frantic efforts to equalize but the able defence of All Blacks kept them in check. Their hopes of drawing level with All Blacks were shattered when substitute Mohammed Razak exploited a defensive blunder in the 81st minute to increase the tally to 2-0.

In another development, Cape Coast Ghatel Ladies reaped goal harvest when they whipped the Under-12 side of Brofoyedur Kings team 6-2 in the second leg of their friendly soccer match played at Robert Mensah Sports stadium on Saturday.

The first leg encounter ended 3-3 at the Victoria Park last week. Mary Baidoo played an exceptional role and was responsible for the sweet victory for the Ladies as she scored a hat trick to seal the doom of the youngsters.

Ghatel Ladies who led 4-0 at half time, raised the tally to 5-0 through inside right, Genet Owusu in the 50th minute but a minute later Kings midfielder, Charles Ebow pulled a goal back.

Kings continued to dominate the game and in the 54th minute, outside right, Yaovi Asino reduced the tally to 5-2.

Ghatel Ladies forced the tide in their favour and increased the tally to 6-2 through Salamatu Wuseini in the dying minutes of the game.
