Alhaji Grunzah rescues Graphic cameramen

Drama unfolded at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday when a cameraman of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), John Essel was heckled by an official of King Faisal during a Premiership game with Heart of Lions.

One Chambas, identified as Operations Manager of Faisal, without provocation attempted forcibly to prevent Essel from discharging his duties.

Chambas allegedly accused the cameraman of attempting to plant “juju” in the homers post, heckling him in the process.

In the heat of the argument, Alhaji Abdul Karim Grunzah, founder and bankroller of Faisal, and Venue Media Officer Kwaku Ahenkorah intervened, calling Chambas to order.

The visibly disappointed Essel told GNA Sport after the match “I am very shocked. I have been covering matches at this Stadium for the last 10 years, and I am shocked at the sudden turn of events.”

He called on the National Sports Authority (NSA) to provide maximum security for media men during games.
