Kuwait League champions Al Qadsia FC have offered Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila a one year contract extension, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively disclose.

Sumaila, 23, whose contract was expected to end at the end of the 2017 league season will now stay with the club till 2018 if he decides to.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns defender has been in tremendous form this season for the champions and his hardwork has been hugely recognized by the club.

The stupendous defender rose to win the best foreign player in the Kuwait Premier League as well as the best defender of Al Qadsia of the season.

His defensive exploits ensured the champions conceded just 12 goals in 25 league matches, the least in the history of the club.

He also captained the Al Qadsia ‘B’ side to win the youth championship in Kuwait making him the most admired player in the team.
