Akunnor Wants More After First Win

Head coach of Sekondi Eleven Wise CK Akunnor says his side could have achieved more than the 2-1 league victory chalked over champions Asante Kotoko on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Ex-Black Stars captain made his debut on the touchlines and admitted his nerves were jangling before kick-off. Wise took the lead through striker Jeff Aryee before Daniel Nii Adjei equalized for Kotoko in the 67th minute. Winfred Dorman snatched a late win from a goal-mouth melee to hand Kotoko their third loss of the season.

"Yes I'm happy that we won and it's a good start for me because beating Kotoko is big but I must say my boys could have done more," Akunnor told

Ghanasoccernet.com "They were in haste and they had relaxed and executed the game plan, they would have won by a wider margin. "They were in a hurry to win and score and so ended up missing more chances. We will build on it from here and march on," he added. "We have Hearts and Kotoko all coming to Sekondi in the second round and there's more work to be done."
