Akonnor's Freak Injury at the Barber's

Wolfsburg's Ghana international Charles Akonnor, seems to be on a one-man mission to collect the most bizarre injury in football history.

A simple visit to a barber last week led to emergency surgery to save his thumb after he somehow fell through a glass table.

That, though, fails to top the injury to his nose sustained a few years ago when he was taken unawares by an automatic car radio aerial.

There are some players who should be wrapped in cotton-wool and never allowed out of the house.
